I just returned from spending a week in Kochi, India. I was invited to be a trainer in a magazine training event where we spent a week working with Christian magazine publishers from India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Nigeria, and Kenya.
I was honored to be able to work with Sharon Mumper and her great staff from Magazine Training International. They organized a great conference that included 19 amazing participants.
It’s exciting to see how God is using people in developing countries to impact lives in their communities through Christian magazine publishing. I always leave these kinds of events thinking, “these are the greatest people in the world” and this event was no exception. The participants were loving, gracious, and shared a heart for the Lord and for other people.
The Kingdom of God is filled with people from all nations. It is the fulfillment of God’s calling on Abraham, the people of Israel, and the New Testament church. Sharing with, standing with, and working with these precious people felt like the Kingdom of God.
I returned with a renewed commitment to aggressively pursue God’s calling and continue developing resources that help the church teach His story to successive generations. My prayer is that I’ll have the opportunity to see these wonderful people again before Jesus returns. In the meanwhile, I pray God’s presence in their work and lives.
